TBS crafters and friends began their work in November 2003 and continue
to complete blankets for our troops around the world. Our group of
helpers has significantly dwindled since that time, but continues to produce
blankets with with love and heartfelt dedication.

Some letters....
I just wanted to write and thank you and group for the
beautiful quilts that you sent to myself and the other soldiers over
here in Afghanistan...I am so grateful to know that
people have not forgotten all of the service members who are currently
deployed overseas in support of the Global War On Terror! We all
appreciate the time and dedication that you all put into those quilts;
all of your hard work and dedication shows that we are not forgotten!!
We are so truly grateful for all of your support!! I thank you from the
bottom of my heart!! Without people like you, soldiers would never get
the support that they need to make it through these rough times!! God
Bless you!!
-SSG Michael S. Hemingway
I would like to personally
thank you and the many volunteers of the Warm Up America program for the
care package that you recently sent to our unit in Iraq . We are
overwhelmed by the level of generosity and thought that was put into the
blankets and numerous other items. Please pass on to everyone that
these donations were extremely well received and utilized by our soldiers...As
you can imagine the environment here is harsh and the time away from our
families is difficult, knowing that there are groups like yours supporting
us from back home brings great comfort to the soldiers serving overseas.
Thank you again for all that you do and please pass on our heartfelt gratitude
to the wonderful ladies in Meriden and all the members of your organization.
GOD BLESS AMERICA !
-CPT Ray Chicoski

and thoughtfulness. It means a lot. We will be shutting down
mail operations, but I wanted to send my thanks. Please keep us in
your thoughts and prayers.

I am currently deployed in
Afghanistan. My 2 soldiers and I wanted to thank you for the blankets
you sent. We wanted you to know how much it means to us knowing that
there are people out there who sacrifice their free time to support us.
I also want to thank you for reminding us we are not forgotten in this
time of war. Your friend,
-- Shane Wilkinson 10th

Thank you so much for the
blanket you sent me. It was a real surprise to receive a package
from someone that I didn't recognize. I think you have a great program
going here. I really appreciate what you and the rest of the people
that are making these blankets are doing for our soldiers...It's great
to know that we have so much support from just about everyone around the
good old USA. God Bless You, God Bless Warm Up America, and God Bless
the USA.
-- Michael Hallquist, Sergeant
Major, US Army, 1-128th Infantry Operations
Just a note to convey my
personal thanks for your kind thoughts and special efforts to take care
of our deployed military members... As you might guess, maintaining high
spirits and morale are not always easy when the pressures of war are upon
you. Just knowing that there are people at home who care and appreciate
your efforts are often all they have to keep them going....The work you
and the children are doing at Temple Beth Sholom is MONUMENTAL in demonstrating
a nation that cares. Please accept my heartfelt thanks!
-- Nancy E. Jones, Maj,
MoANG 131st Fighter Wing
Good Morning Just wanted
to say that my son is home for 2 weeks, came in on yesterday. He did get
the blanket, but he'd forgotten about me telling him it was coming. He
said he kept wondering who are all these people. He did say it was very
nice and wants me to say thanks for him. Please thank everyone that helped
with this. My God bless you all in a special way.
-- Patricia A. Thomas
Thank you so much for thinking
about us over here. The package brought smiles to our faces to know
you care. The quilts were so beautiful, did you make them yourself?
I did share them, so know that they'll be keeping very grateful people
warm this winter. Thanks again for everything.
- Jared Jacobsen, 379 ESFS

you so much for volunteering your time to make this very much appreciated
blanket for my nephew, Tom. He will really like and be very thankful for
it. I wrote to him and told him to be expecting this gift in the mail.
I do hope he feels hugged very many times by this blanket and to you a
GREAT BIG HUG for crocheting it!

Thank you so much for writing.
I and my other troops appreciate everything very much. We have finished
mine clearance for the winter now. Some of my guys will be going
down south to do mine clearing where it is warmer and the ground is softer
duing the winter months. Others will be going to various places in
Afghanistan to do various things. Those of us that are still at base
camp will be doing a lot of construction work. I hope everything
is well back in the states. Once again thank you so much for keeping
us in your thoughts and prayers.
-- Nathan Baltes, A Co.

This is Lindell's husband,
your soldier boy in Iraq, and everything is going alright here thanks to
people like you that our days are easier. Warm Up America is a very
good group of people because we all need that special something that your
group gives. May God bless you and your families.

I would like to thank you
for the awesome package you sent to us. It's great to know that people
are so appreciative of what we do. Honestly, we are just doing a
job and most people don't look at it this way. I've accomplished
so much in the last 7 months of being here, I'm even becoming proud of
myself. I'm counting the days until I get to see my Mom and Dad again!
-PFC Carolann Seever,
25th infantry division
Thank you so much for the
care package. The whole squadron appreciates it. I made sure
to pass out the items to those who were feeling homesick or otherwise down.
You have helped to brighten the day of many Air Force personnel here at
Karshi-Kahanad ("K2") Air Base, Uzbekistan...Recently, we had a role in
the first ever democratic election in Afghanistan, transporting ballot
boxes, election workers and security forces to the northern remote provinces...Thank
you again for your support of the men and women of the United States Air
Force!
